Lori B. Katz, Esq.

Lori graduated from Cornell University and earned a law degree from the University of California at Berkeley (Boalt Hall School of Law). She is admitted to the bar in New York.

Lori began her legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in Brooklyn, New York. At the District Attorney’s Office she conducted criminal investigations, grand jury proceedings and felony trials.

After fulfilling her commitment to the District Attorney’s Office, Lori continued her career at a New York law firm where she specialized in employment and labor law and litigation. There she counseled clients and conducted training on a variety of workplace issues including: hiring discipline and termination; discrimination and harassment; disability accommodations; employment contracts and non-competition agreements; compensation; wage and hours issues; and downsizings.

While in private practice, Lori also litigated employment related cases in federal and state court as well as in various arbitration forums. In addition, she reviewed and drafted employment policies and manuals, negotiated collective bargaining agreements and participated, on behalf of employers, in grievance proceedings and mediations.

After more than 10 years in private practice, Lori went in-house with a large financial services company in its Employment and Labor law group in northern New Jersey where she supervised investigations and employment related litigation, counseled clients on all aspects of employment issues, and conducted workplace training.

In addition to her work at VERITA, LLC Lori is also a trained mediator and has been involved in mediating disputes involving a wide variety of issues.
