Nancy F. DuBoise
Nancy DuBoise is a native New Yorker. She did her undergraduate work at Cornell University, where she received a BS in Industrial and Labor Relations. She returned to the New York City area to get her law degree at Brooklyn Law School.
Nancy has practiced law for more than two decades, always with a concentration in labor and employment law. She began practicing in New York City, working with both a small and large law firm. She gained experience litigating employment discrimination cases, and represented plaintiffs as well as defendants in such matters. With a desire to move in-house, Nancy left New York City for upstate New York where she spent several years working for a large manufacturing company, first as an in-house attorney and later moving into a labor relations role.
She relocated to the Philadelphia area initially in 1993, but left in 1999 to explore the mid-west. She spent five years in Ohio working for an auto manufacturing company as an in-house employment lawyer before returning (again) to the Philadelphia area. Her experiences both in Pennsylvania and in Ohio exposed her to work in a variety of settings, including government, higher education, financial services and manufacturing. In these various roles, she became skilled in conducting internal investigations, representing clients before state and federal fair employment practices agencies, responding to union organizing campaigns, and developing and facilitating training. Her experiences have included in-house legal roles as well as eight years spent in the Human Resources department of a university. In her HR role she concentrated on employee and labor relations issues, including the negotiation of collective bargaining agreements. She was also responsible for recruitment and hiring for the university.
